My 22nd Lockdown birthday

So, here I am. Just turned 22. Wow. I must be feeling like an adult ready to take on the whole world. But, trust me, right now, what I really wanna do is watch family man with maa ke hath ka khana and finish the last book of the Clifton chronicles. Honestly speaking, I got a bit stressed on the day before my bday whose reasons are quite unknown to me. So, this year is no different from the other years. I was taking a lot of stress before my birthday. Also, I knew my cousin was gonna give something special to me. What she is gonna give I don't know. To add to those ongoing stresses, our final exam was gonna happen the day after my birthday. So, I was also worried about that too. Now, lets jump straight to the D-day. My cousin has sent me a parcel earlier which she strictly told me not to open before 12 am. So, I was supposed to video call her at exact 12 am. As instructed I video called her at 12 am and to my surprise, my nani (maternal grandmother) was also there waiting for her t

So, we woke up to the sounds of hawkers selling all sorts of things. My brother started nagging my father to buy him bread pakoras. I could not resist my temptation from looking at those good-looking bread-pakoras and started nagging my bro for a bite๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹. Then, we had our breakfast which was accompanied by the scenic beauty from the train's windows. We observed small hills, villages that we never thought existed. We spotted many beautiful peacocks openly roaming in their habitat. We ate weird-looking cucumbers which were so large to finish. We enjoyed the train's pantry food a lot.  After some time, we witnessed that massive view which we were wishing from the very moment my father got those tickets i.e., the view of the mountain range with a little bit of snow over it which was enhancing its beauty. I haven't visited any hill station before and can't explain my excitation at that point.  So, we finally reached Jammu Tawi at around 5 pm. I was expecting a bit of cold i

So, it's actually happening. For 10 years, I was hearing that we were going to Kashmir. But, for some reason or other, our plans always got cancelled. And, today we were actually boarding the train to Kashmir. I wasn't able to contain myself with happiness. But there was another person who was more happy than me. And yes it's my mother. She is a person who will listen to 'Yeh Hassein Wadiya, Yeh Khula Aasman' at least once a week. So, you can understand how excited she can be when we were actually going to the city of beauty. In my head, I have decided that I won't believe the entire trip until and unless I went inside the train. We were going for 14 days. And at the end of our packing, I realized that my father loves to pack. From first aid kits to horlicks, my father has packed everything. So, that led to three big trolleys which we have to carry for the entire trip. Looking at those big suitcases was giving me mini headaches. However, my mother started to yel

Things you can do in isolation:

Things you can do in self-isolation:     1.   Paint.         Ask yourself when was the last time you have picked up a brush?    2.   Cook.       Maybe you are not getting those delicacies served by Swiggy guys but hey, the local shops are open. Pick out the ingredients and give yourself a treat.    3. Socialize  .         Catch up with a friend (in social media of course).  We all crave for a long and meaningful conversation. So, go for it.    4.   Recreate.        Give your room a new look. Open YouTube and start searching for DIYs.    5. Organize.       Organize your drive, documents in phone, computer discs, etc.     6. Write .          Write your heart out. Write all the stuffs that are going on in your mind. Believe me, you will feel like losing 5 pounds of weight.    7. Plan your long term goals.       We have all been once in a stage where we panic about where to go and what to do with your future. So, figure it out
